We question the link between materials, their temporality and the fast fashion industry, due to the waste management, designers and consumers.

Long description

Efímera Fashion collects the development of a textile material created from organic waste, responding to emerging problems such as the environmental impact produced by agri-food waste and industrial responsibility in the face of this fact.

The project focuses on dairy waste as material waste, representing approximately 8% of the world’s food waste, and for having a historical link with the textile industry, taking as a reference the traditional manufacturing process of milk fiber.

The material has been developed from the exploration of different recipes and techniques to obtain a fiber, taking as a guideline its flexibility and, above all, biodegradability, the interaction with the skin and its useful life, according to a textile industry that aims at seasonal “disposable” fashion.
