GREEN INITIATIVE is an enterprise comprising of vibrant members cutting across various region and sub-regions, in this esteemed great nation. It is my desire to assist, participate and contribute my own quota in the areas of promoting and maintaining an aesthetically clean environment. This in effect, is the reason behind the conception of the enterprise.

Green Initiative thus, imposes on its members the task of reaching out to communities through orientation (in conjunction with the support of the local authority), public lecture hearings, debates, research projects and programmes for the sole purpose of creating a clean environment as well as preventing the spread of ill-health conditions among members of the communities.

As part of our commitment to achieving the principles of environmental sustainability in our community, we recognize our moral and legal responsibility to ensure that our activities and services are designed to enhance the environment in the communities in which we operate, and to ensuring that our operations do not place the local community or environment at risk of harm.

We are committed to environmental improvement and prevention of pollution. We will work with our clients and the community to adopt procedures that:

• Reduce waste through innovative work practices and recycling practices
• Minimize environmental impacts by reduction of polluting substances produced
• Minimize the impact of our operations on the neighbouring community
• Increase the use of environmentally acceptable materials, equipment and technology in place of those which are considered harmful
• Ensure that our communities follow acceptable environmental policies, and
• Actively promote environmental awareness among staff, clients, and the general public.

To support the endless efforts of government in the areas of proper waste management and disposal by inculcating on members of the community the habit of proper disposal of generated wastes, imbibing “Neatness our Culture”, therefore creating a clean, aesthetical environment as well as reduce the occurrence of ill-health conditions.

This project is to work with environmental agency in the areas of policy, rules, and law formulation and implementation in regards to proper waste management and disposal. For instance, there should be a law on communities enacted by the local government prohibiting indiscriminate waste disposal by its members.

To change the attitude, behaviour, and perspective of an average man, woman, youth and children towards generated waste through orientation, lectures, debates, programmes, award etc.
