Long description

The Mini Clinic Initiative is a community project by Rubilabs that promotes environmental sustainability, socio-economic development, and community health by providing convenient recycling services in densely populated urban neighbourhoods. We give households a chance to generate value from their waste and provide a reliable supply of raw material to the local recycling industry. The Mini Clinic uses trash as a financial enabler for poor slum dwellers to access health care. We are implementing a micro-insurance model which enables slum communities to pay for health cover, drugs and other clinical services using trash as insurance cover. The Mini Clinic provides high quality, affordable healthcare located in convenient retail settings. The Mini Clinic diagnoses and treats minor illnesses for patients 1 year and up with care provided by board-certified nurse practitioners and/or physician assists.
